Samoan Language Week

Room 2 has been learning Samoan this term with Room 1 on Mondays. We have been working hard and we have learnt how to say lots of things in Samoan!

Hello - talofa, talofa lava
Teacher - faiaoga
Goodbye - tofa
Thank you - fa'afetai
How are you? - 'O a mai 'oe?
Fine, thank you - Manuia fa'afetai

We had Samoan Language Week and had our special assembly. Room 1 and Room 2 sang Savalivali for assembly.

We also had buddy time with Room 8 this week and we made a Siapo together. A Siapo is a traditional fabric of Samoa. We looked at different Pasifika artwork and patterns to get lots of ideas and our Room 8 buddies helped us with our art. We used vivid, red dye, brown paint and crayons.

We presented our Siapo with Room 8 at Assembly!
